TOKYOPOP
I began my design career at TOKYOPOP. I worked there from 2004 – 2011. TOKYOPOP is a manga publisher and purveyor of Japanese pop culture to the U.S. In addition to translating Japanese and Korean graphic novels, TOKYOPOP also creates original manga.

One of the original series was a licensing partnership with Blizzard (now ActivisionBlizzard) to create original graphic novels of their Warcraft and Starcraft properties. The primary cover key art was created by the illustrator, and the primary game logo was created by Blizzard, but the "Death Knight", "Shaman", and "Mage" title logos, brand bar, and cover design/layout were created by me.

Additionally on the Starcraft series, we were able to utilize a holographic UV coating which had never been done for any of our manga before.

In addition to cover designs, during my time at TOKYOPOP, I produced many other forms of product and marketing creative. Shown below: TOKYOPOP's first film/television intellectual property licensing advertisement that was featured in Variety magazine. Tour bus wrap for cross-country reality web series "World's Greatest Otaku" featuring the revised TOKYOPOP branding (both bus wrap and branding created by me) An in store point of purchase display for original licensed manga featuring Battlestar Gallactica and Star Trek.
